Bows Boardings ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Bows Boardings mobile application and website at bowsboardings.co.uk. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

When you use the Bows Boardings app or website, we may collect:

- Profile information — your address, phone number, and profile photo.
- Dog information — details about your dog(s) including name, breed, age, and any special instructions.
- Booking information — dates, sitter details, and booking status.
- Device information — your device type and push notification token (used solely to send you booking notifications).
- Communications — messages and information you submit through the app.
For sitters, we additionally collect: bio, service area, availability, and a photo of yourself.

- To connect dog owners with verified sitters
- To send booking notifications and service updates
- To process and manage bookings and payments
- To verify sitter identities and maintain platform safety

3. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Between owners and sitters — once a booking is confirmed, contact details are shared between the relevant owner and sitter to arrange the stay.
- Service providers — we use Supabase for data storage and Expo for push notifications. These services process data on our behalf under appropriate data protection agreements.
- Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, hosted in the European Union. We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest, and row-level security policies to ensure you can only access your own data.
5. Your Rights (UK GDPR)
As a UK resident, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Object to or restrict how we process your data
- Data portability — receive a copy of your data in a portable format

6. Push Notifications
We use Expo's push notification service to send you booking updates. You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings. Your push notification token is stored solely to deliver these messages and is removed when you sign out.

The Bows Boardings service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.
